PULVERFARVER

Food Colouring

Powder colors / Food coloring.

Our powder colors can be used in several different ways. They are very concentrated and therefore give nice sharp colors. They are fat-soluble, but can of course also be dissolved in water. So you can dissolve them directly in e.g. cream, juice and icing. (for the more solid products such as fondant and marzipan, you can advantageously dissolve it in a tiny bit of water before kneading it in)

For example; if you want to use them to color chocolate they can be added directly to the melted white chocolate when it is hottest.

Do you want to use them for decorating chocolate molds; Mix them with the melted cocoa butter (Sweetkitchen cocoa butter mycryo), and spray (airbrush), brush, sprinkle or dip into the molds where it dries before pouring chocolate on top.

The powder colors can also be used to paint on other foods such as cookies or on marzipan and fondant. Here it is best to mix the powder colors with a few drops of alcohol (e.g vodka). This will evaporate and leave you a nice thicker paint which can be applied with a brush.

Finally, you can also use them dry to make effects on e.g. flowers of fondant (Sweetkitchen fondant) or marzipan. Here you just use them directly from the container, but a good idea is to wipe the brush off in a piece of paper towel before, as otherwise it will color very strong.

The powder colors can be mixed into new colors.

NATURLIGE PULVERFARVER

Colouring foods

Natural Powder Colors / Coloring foods

Natural powder colors will never be as strong in the colors as others, but they do provide some fine pastel colors.

Our natural powder colours are water soluble. However, they can be well dissolved in cocoa butter with vigorous stirring. (see under food colouring)

If you want to use them directly in liquid foods, they can simply be added and stirred. When used in solid masses, such as fondant (Sweetkitchen fondant), you must dissolve them in a tiny bit of water before kneading in. Try a little at a time. Should your marzipan or fondant get wet and difficult to work with, you can always knead a little corn starch into it.

They are also great for creating effects on other decorations, use a small brush directly from the container and wipe it of a bit before. Then you can make fine details and shadows on your edible decorations.

The colors can be nice and easily mixed to other colors.
